Do monk healing spells really make minions/fiends/horrors degen faster? - Guild Wars Forums

Skills like Heal Other and Area. A few MMs were saying it did, but I haven't really heard about it anywhere else.

I noticed that about 4 months ago. I was using heal area to keep a fellow players m's alive while he was afk for about 10 minutes. I noticed the longer I continued to heal his minions, the faster the degen rate appeared to become.

it doesn't have anything to do with a Monk's healing spell or what not....

Minions will have more and more health degen while they're alive. Meaning, the longer they live, the more health degen they will get. I'm just not sure if it was true that they get -1 health regen every minute and a half....

The degen rate increases regardless.

They dont make them die faster.

As minions grow older they suffer from more degen, its this that cases them to die faster.

Typicly though you dont get to see this happen as minions have short lifespans, so when a monk comes along and keeps them alive for a long time and the degen gets worse as they grow older, ruddy annoying and clueless MM's tell you off for healing them.

The rate is, I believe, one additional pip of degen every 20 seconds. So the longer a minion stays alive, the faster its health will degen. Since monk spells will invariably keep your minions alive longer, that's why it would appear that they make your minions' health degen faster. Its an illusion; monk healing is beneficial for your minion army.

There are still people who believe this. I actually had a MM leave our tombs group last week because she believed it so much. Even though three others in the group pointed out how wrong it was, that they played MM as well.

The source for this persons misinformation. Gameamp. After they left, many of us whispered this person to browse various forums such as GWGuru and GWOnline and look it up again. I don't know if they did or not, but I try to help the people understand how wrong they are. This person was just very unwilling to understand and thus the reason they quit the group.

Exactly. I beleive this is the only reason people think healing will increase minions' degen rate. It has also been answered a numerous times. It has also been tested by reputable players.
